Everyone,
The location below should be easy to get to for the debut of Jeffrey Brody's opera, "The Picture of Dorian Gray" performed by the Longwood Opera in early June. Please spread the word to any opera lovers (or Dorian Gray fans) of your acquaintance.
Having spent many weeks singing with Jeffrey as the "Fearless Leader" of our Church choir, I can vouch for his talent and knowledge as a musician, composer, vocal coach, and opera lover. It is amazing and wonderful that he seems to like working with us humble amateurs in addition to the Met Opera stars whom he coaches.
I heard a brief piano excerpt from the first movement that Jeffrey was playing without knowing what it was, and it was most exciting even without envisioning it in its correct context.
Christ Episcopal Church

- From Boston: Take Mass Pike or Rt. 9 west to Rt. 128 (I-95) south, then follow as above.
Thanks,
Kathy Fink
As you can imagine, producing a world premiere is a costly endeavor.
Musical scores cannot be borrowed, rented or purchased. They must be created, from concept to finished product. Likewise, sets, lighting, special effects, props and costumes to enhance the production all must be created for the very first time. The rehearsal period is considerably longer as we need to take the time to create, examine, evaluate and determine all aspects of the show, large and small. There are no precedents or guidelines, as are sometimes available for existing works.
